Coach's Evaluation

I have had the privilege of coaching Andrew for two years now and the progress made in such a short time has been quite impressive. Within a years’ time Andrew improved his average by around 10 strokes and became one of our most reliable golfers in the 2022-23 season. His work ethic on the team is second to none which has shown off in the results on the course regularly, coming in the top 3 in every EPAC tournament and providing much needed low round scores for team results as well, helping us to an undefeated record in EPAC play this past season. What is even more impressive is Andrew’s willingness to help his teammates. At practices when not working on his own game, you can find Andrew helping other golfers on the team with whatever is necessary to help them make strides themselves. He cares about his teammates and hopes for their success as much as his, a truly team first, not me first attitude. When not at the course working on his game, Andrew translates his hard work to the classroom where he exemplifies exactly what a student athlete should be, maintaining his high GPA and staying up on his class work. There is no doubt in my mind Andrew has the talent and mindset to be exceptional at the collegiate level from an athletic and academic standpoint.

Personal Message

My name is Andrew Taylor from Washington High School located in Jefferson County, WV. I play golf in the class of 2024, for the High School team, and individual tournaments throughout the year. I am passionate about having an excellent work ethic and teamwork and know I would make a great asset to your school. I value respect, dedication, and determination on and off the field. One of my positive attributes is being coachable. Thank you for taking time to evaluate my athletic profile. I would be grateful to have an opportunity and be considered for your school.

I currently have a combined 3.7 GPA academically. I started playing golf about 2 years ago; playing sophomore and junior year for the High School Golf team. Sophomore year I was able to win sectionals and held the 4th spot on the team all year. During my junior year, I won many more tournaments during and out of high school season; I improved to the 1 spot on the team and led the team for scoring average and acquired the journal's regional high school player of the year. I have been able to practice constantly and make many mechanical improvements in a short amount of time and would be a great asset to your team.

Thank you for allowing me to display my talents. If given an opportunity, I would like to show that I would be a great asset to your team. I would be honored to visit your campus and speak in person. I am ready to take the steps to the next level and potentially being a part of your program. Hope to hear from you or your recruiting staff soon!

Sincerely,

Andrew Taylor
