Personal Message
As a middle school track athlete I was very excited to go for my middle school track team, however I was devastated when I missed the cut. I begged the coach to allow me to train as an honorary athlete and I pushed myself harder than anyone else to earn a spot on the roster. Fast forward to high school and I had another wake up call, so I began training in my own time to improve my athleticism. Through this training I learned that I value self-discipline and consistency more than any of my friends, and I fell in love with the process.
I went from 6th in my sophomore indoor state championship, to being first and my junior year state championship meet as a triple jumper. I am hungry to improve and with an opportunity to play at the college level I would have the tools necessary to make a huge jump In my performance. It has been my dream to play at a high college level so I can become the best athlete I possibly can be, and when I dream of something I tell myself that I will do it, and take steps everyday to fulfil that said dream. For example. My freshman year I made a promise to myself that I would become a state champion, and I made it happen. My current goals are to break school records in all of my events, and achieve the state triple gold this indoor and outdoor season in the 4x4, triple jump, and hurdling events. I'm a versatile athlete who is open to be a utility knife, and I will always step up when necessary or not. I think of myself as someone who won't take no for an answer, and will work strenuously to turn the no’s to yesses, whether that’s athletically, morally, or academically. I’ve extensively researched concepts related to improving athletic ability and my greatest passions are learning more about how I can better myself physically mentally, and musically. I have put my soul into track and field, and I' m going to continue to put more into it so I can take myself to a new level as a college student. I believe that I have no limit regardless of my lack of innate talent, and I will one day make it to the NCAA track and field championships.
