A true floor general on the court that operates with high efficiency and great poise. His ability to handle the ball to facilitate the offensive set combined with his good court vision allows him to get his teammates involved.
From a scoring aspect Christian has the confidence to score from any spot on the court, doesn’t matter if he’s taking the ball to the basket, pulling up a mid-range jump shots or knocking down the shot from the deep. Christian is a hustler with a high IQ of the game allow him to be able to position himself on the court and beat his opponent to the spot in both man to man and zone defensive sets. His high level of effort allows him to constantly be rebounding, chasing loose balls, and pressuring the ball handler to create steal opportunities.
Christian will most definitely be a contributing presence at the next level both on the court and in the classroom.

About Christian Longerbeam
Coach's Evaluation
Trent Hilliard - Washington High School - Boys Head Basketball Coach
In the six years of knowing Christian he has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, ambition and leadership. In addition to his excellent scholastic accomplishments (honor roll every year since middle school), he has proven his leadership abilities as a member of the Washington High School Boys Basketball Program by always displaying a positive attitude, a willingness to compete and provide encouragement to other members of the team in moments of adversity.
He is reliable and a dependable team player whether on the court or in the classroom. His good judgement and mature outlook ensure a logical and practical approach to his endeavors.
In addition to his leadership qualities as a member of our basketball program Christian has volunteered his time in the Jefferson County Community helping the elderly, assisting with little league and help run a summer basketball camp.
As a leader he understands that there may be moments that everyone may not be onboard with his decisions, yet he ensures that his teammates have a full understanding of those decisions and makes himself available for any follow-up discussions that his teammates may have.
Christian would be an asset to any college or university not only as an athlete, but also as a leader in the classroom and the community.

Offense:
Christian is very solid in all aspects of the offensive game of basketball. He excels shooting the basketball and will do so at a high rate of efficiency wherever he ends up at the next level. Christian knows the game and the importance of moving without the basketball as a scorer. He reads screens being set up for him and sets up his defender to maximize the space he gets from the screen. His knowledge of the game allows him to be a floor general on offense, getting all his teammates in the correct spots on the floor to have a successful possession each time down the floor. Christian has added the dribble pull up to his game making him a three level scorer on the offensive end, he knows how to read his defender and use the jab cycle to score at any level. His vision passing the ball is above average as well, he has a feel for where his teammates will be and has the ability to get them the ball. Christian understands the importance of the ball moving up the court through passing first as opposed to dribbling through a defense.
Defense:
Christian is a plus guard to guard defender who moves his feet very well. His IQ of the game of basketball allows him to beat his man to the spot he wants to go to. Christian will play in your face man to man defense as well as understand his role in a zone to allow the team to be as successful as possible. Christian is a solid rebounding guard and will box out when needed and fill a lane when needed on a long rebound. His knowledge of the game allows him to be in the correct positions to help, trap or whatever else he is asked to do.
Other:
Christian is a tough kid and will battle through any injury he can. He is the ultimate teammate and will do whatever it takes to help his team be successful. He is always a star in his role no matter what that role is. My favorite thing about Christian is how Coachable he is. He will do anything asked of him and will go above and beyond all while never once complaining.
Christian will be a valuable asset to any team he is a part of. He has the intangible qualities you can not coach.
