Morgan Mahoney is an extremely talented class of 2022 Guard/Small Forward prospect that attends Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Delaware. Very good athlete with great size, skill and natural athleticism. Will be a 4 Year varsity starter, 1st Team All Conference, ranked Top 20 in the state of Delaware and received ALL State recognition as a sophomore and Junior. Morgan has played a huge role in Cape Henlopen's success compiling a 54-9 record over her first 3 seasons with deep playoff runs in all 3 years. She currently plays AAU basketball for the East Coast Thunder.
Solid ball handler, 3 level scorer, Consistent outside shot. Very high basketball IQ.
2020-21 Season Averages: 14.5 points, 3 assists, 7rebounds per game. Shot 41% from three point range.
Offensively Morgan does everything well! Great footwork and body control. Knows how to get to her spots. Great off pick and roll action. Quick release on her jump shot. Showcases great court vision and is an excellent passer. She can score the ball at all three levels, can face up and has good offensive ability with her back to the basket. Finishes well in traffic. She has a nice mid-range shot, can stretch the floor and has good range on her three ball as well.
Very solid ball handler-- athletic frame with long arms and wingspan. Morgan rebounds well and plays great on ball and help defense. Length allows her to block or disrupt shots defensively.
High character kid, excellent work ethic. Very encouraging to her teammates. Leads vocally and by example. Academically Morgan is a high honor roll student and maintains a 3.8 GPA.
Morgan has all the characteristics coaches would want to see in a potential recruit and projects as a solid class of 2022 collegiate prospect. She is certainly an athlete to take a hard look at in the 2022 class.

Personal Message
Hello Prospective Coaches,
My name is Morgan Mahoney and I am an upcoming senior class of 2022 shooting guard/ power forward. I attend Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Delaware. My love for basketball plays a huge part in my life. I have been passionate about the sport since 1st grade. My goal is to succeed on the collegiate level and to pursue a degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Here are some things you should know about me… I have maintain a 3.8 or higher GPA and currently have a 4.0 and am taking all honors courses. Other than playing for my high school i have also played AAU since 2nd grade. I lived in NY and played on the Staten Island Diamonds and we were 13th in the Country my 5th grade year. When I moved to Delaware in 2017 I've played AAU and I have trained everyday with my coaches and on my own working on skills to better my game.
I have started on every team I’ve played for and have been the leader and most vocal. This past season I averaged 14.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, 1.5 assists, and 2.1 steals. This summer i am playing AAU on East Coast Thunder and I workout and lift everyday. On the court I am a three point shooter and a force in the post position. I can defend the perimeter and in the paint gaining blocks and rebounds. On offense I am able to read the court and be a good decision maker.
My Cape Henlopen team has succeeded going undefeated in the regular season and going far into playoffs. I am confident that I can be an asset to any team and I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
