Scouting Report

Class of 2021 Power forward, Maya Carter stands tall and strong at 6'0" with a 6'3" wingspan. Carter had a standout junior season for the Bishop McDevitt Lady Crusaders. As the team's second highest scorer, she averaged 9 points per game and 6 boards per game. As one of the state's most efficient players, she ranks 20th in Pennsylvania for Points Per 32 minutes.

Offensive Review
Give Carter the ball and she is on mission to score. Carter can score with her back to the basket or beat girls face up. She loves the baseline and mid-range jumpers. Her ability to out jump everyone in the gym is what sets her a part from most recruits. Carter grabs the ball off the backboard, keeps it high and scores with pure athleticism. Put Carter out front in the fast-break transition and give her the ball - she will get to the rim and score.  

Defensive Review
Carter's big, long frame allows her to take up space in the paint and defend opponents inside. She led the Mid Penn Conference (24 schools) in total blocks for several weeks. With nearly two blocks per game Carter is looking to swat anything in arm's reach.

Carter was sidelined this postseason due to the PIAA transfer rule but it didn't stop her from being the ideal teammate - prepping teammates during practice and being their biggest cheerleader during the games.  

Maya has been an honor roll student all in every High school marking period and carries a 3.2 gpa.
