James Nevels Jr is a solid overall athlete that plays Wide Receiver / Defensive Back at Delaware Military Academy in Wilmington, Delaware. A 2022 prospect with potential on both sides of the ball. He is a versatile and athletic WR/DB, displaying his size, length, and strength. 6'0 / 170 pounds.

On the offensive end, James displays his skill set as an exceptional route runner using his size, length, and speed to either stretch the field or be a possession receiver. He can run every route on the route tree with skill and finesse. His quick feet and explosiveness off the line of scrimmage, winning the one-on-one battles, creates the separation he needs to display his playmaking ability. His ball skills are on display, always reliable on catching the routine ball, as well as making the difficult catch look effortless. As a runner, he uses his next level vision to get north/south and displays a level of physicality that results in extra yards on every catch. James is also a very willing blocker when called upon to block down field.

On the defensive side of the ball, James showcases not only his size, length, and strength but he also displays his foot quickness and agility and read and react ability on the outside. James works extremely hard with his coaches refining his coverage skills, whether it is man, press or zone concepts. His football instincts, vision, and intelligence allow him to dissect the passing concepts of the offensive team. He also displays good bail technique and flashes excellent closing speed to the ball carrier. He utilizes proper tackling mechanics and breakdown skills to attack the runner. Academically he currently carries a 3.7 GPA. James is a prospect to keep an eye on in the 2022 class and has collegiate potential as a Wide Receiver or Defensive Back.
