Nicholas Matson is a solid Class of 2022 Outfielder/LHP that attends Greater Nanticoke Area HS in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. Very talented athlete who displays smooth, polished actions defensively with solid arm strength topping at 86mph. Has the ability to cover gap to gap, very good instincts and awareness in the outfield.
At the plate shows ability to barrel baseballs and can hit to all fields. Has very good bat speed. As a runner can run a sub 7 60, very good athletic actions as a runner, has ability to go 1st -3rd and steal bases.
On the mound LHP has a repeatable delivery with a great feel for off-speed pitches. Fastball has topped at 83
Off the field Nick is a strong competitor with great work ethic. Very good student. Plays competitive travel ball for the MVP Blue Jackets (Nanticoke, PA).
Nick is an honor roll student and maintains a 3.8 GPA; certainly a 2022 prospect to keep on your radar.

(PBR)Prep Baseball Report Evaluation, (6/18/2019):
5-foot-10", 145-pound two-way prospect has grown two inches and added 25 pound to his frame in the past year and the results are noticeable. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a quiet, lift-and-replace stride. Showcased above average balance and feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 6.97 60-yard dash. Displayed athletic, fluid actions defensively with accurate 84 mph arm strength from the outfield. The lefty sat 80-82 from a high 3/4 arm slot with an easy, repeatable delivery. Also showed feel for a curveball with 1/7 rotation at 69-71 and a changeup at 74-76.

Prospective Coaches,
My name is Nick Matson and I am a class of 2022 OF/LHP from Greater Nanticoke Area High School located in Nanticoke, PA.
My dream has always been to play the game of baseball at the collegiate level, and hopefully at a professional level after college.
I love the game of baseball, and doing all the work it takes to become a better player. I have played travel baseball since I was 8 years old. I work on my strength and conditioning outside of practice, and I also work very hard in the classroom. I have always made sure that my grades are the best that I can make them because I do not want to lose the opportunity to play the game I love. Our facility is located in West Pittston, PA and I am hoping that at some point you or your staff could evaluate me in person.
