Scouting Report

Maddie LaFrance is an extremely talented class of 2021 basketball prospect that attends Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Bottom line, Maddie Lafrance is a flat out shooter! She has all of the tools in regards to ball handling, foot work and court vision that you would hope to see in a point guard, however her ability to shoot the ball at a high percentage from mid range or 3 point range makes her a very deadly combo guard. Maddie is a shooting guard that has the ability to also penetrate and finish. Maddie also creates scoring opportunities for her teammates by penetrating and displaying her high Basketball IQ to find teammates in positions to score. Maddie also displays great versatility on the defense end of the ball, as she is able to guard positions 1 through 3 extremely affectively, and is an above average rebounding guard. Personal Message

Dear Prospective Coaches:

My name is Maddie LaFrance and I am a shooting/point guard, part of the class of 2021 at Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

I have played basketball since I was 5 years old. I fell in love with the game then and I have a much larger passion and love for the game today. I have worked extremely hard every year to build upon my skills and have a strong desire to improve each and every day. I have dreams of continuing to play the game I love at the highest college level and I am looking forward to the next 3 years of my High School and AAU seasons to help prepare me for just that. Graduating 8 seniors last year, I am excited to step up in a much larger role this year setting our goals high with another District Championship (possible threepeat) and a State Championship run. To make my dream a reality, I play and train year round. During any off time, I participate in 1:1 basketball training sessions and work out with a trainer multiple times a week to build up my strength, speed and agility.

In addition to my passion and love for the game, my desire to compete, to be challenged, and my desire to win is evident when I play and train for the game. I also love the concept of teamwork and I know how important team chemistry is to overall success. Although basketball is a game, I have been able to build and develop my leadership skills throughout the years. I did this by either being named team captain, giving encouragement to teammates, and by being the floor leader out on the court. In tight games, my coaches often look to me to control the game in high pressure situations due to my vocal and leadership skills on the court. I have also have had the ability to create valuable long lasting friendships with every team I play on. I have played organized basketball since first grade in local Harrisburg leagues, CYO, AAU, and High School. I played High School freshman basketball as a 7th grader and was a key contributor helping the team to 20-0 record averaging 5 pts a game and moving to starter the last 2 games of the year. As one of two 8th graders on an all 9th grade team, I helped lead the freshman team to a 12-6 record averaging a team high 12.7 pts. As a freshman, I played mostly point guard and started JV and swung up to Varsity as a point/shooting guard earning a Varsity letter, a District III championship, and two rounds towards a State Championship.

In the classroom, I have a 3.7 GPA and understand how important maintaining very good grades are to getting a great college education with the ability to play basketball. I will continue to put the same time and energy into my schoolwork. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review my profile and I look forward to becoming a potential 2021 recruit!

Sincerely,

Maddie LaFrance
