Scouting Report
Daniel Shockley is a solid Class of 2019 combo guard that brings many strengths to the table. An athlete with great character that pays great attention to detail, Daniel is the perfect coach on the floor. At 6’2 175lbs Daniel is comfortable bringing the ball up the floor under pressure and setting the offense, as well as playing off the ball on the wing directing traffic. With a high IQ and a will to be accountable for mistakes made not only by himself but on behalf of his team he is a selfless leader.
Strengths in set shooting and finishing at the rim make him a dual offensive threat to opposing defenders. Along with the ability to score in a variety of ways, Daniel showcases a pass first mentality which makes him an even bigger asset. Defensively he competes readily and often desires to guard the opposing teams best offensive weapon. He loves a challenge and takes guarding personal, as a way to help put his team in the best position to win. With an outstanding work ethic, he has become a gym rat constantly seeking to better his fundamentals in passing, ball handling, and shooting in various ways
Even more impressive may be Daniel’s strengths in the classroom where he boasts a 4.23 cumulative gpa. Taking AP and honors courses Daniel has placed himself in the higher ranks of his class and has also been inducted into the National Honor Society and has received Academic All-conference awards. Daniel possesses not only the skill set it takes to play at the next level but also the desire and work ethic necessary to find and maintain success when he gets there. There is no doubt he would be an asset to any college program.
